Desires

I have heard people put,
Simplest question of all,
Greatest difficulty is what,
What stands as brick's wall.

Power is the answer of some,
Money is what others say,
To some it's the lovely love,

For me, in Desires the answer lay.

Enough I possess,
for heart to throb, breath to run,
But still the earthly things,
Make my mind stun.

They say dream and dream,
Into reality dreams be turned,
But evil comes in the face of good,
In fiction, the life gets churned.

When people hear me,
They laugh at me,
Let the pessimist stand alone,
Weeper over past, let he be.

Desires have burnt me apart,
My pieces flying all over,
Oh God! I need thee,
Thy grace, Thy love's shower.

Helpless I stand trapped,
In desires' iron cage,
I haven't stopped demanding,
Nor have trusted the right sage.

I now trust thee Lord,
Believe in powers possessed by thee,
I lost an year of life,
Fruitful let the other be.

Let my Love increase for you,
For you shall I ever dream,
Never for earthly love, money, power,
Live and die by your holy beam!

And raise above the past,
Over sorrow's clouds dark,
My ancestors count on me,
For indestructible mark!
